We have created this blog in hopes of sharing our life and latest happenings with our family and friends. We are all so busy that sometimes it is difficult to share what is going on in our lives. As for me, I know I don't get to see my family and friends as often as I would like and hopefully this will be a way for them to see updates, pictures, and a little glimpse of our life here (and get to comment too!). I guess as long as I follow through on doing the updates :-)...My hope is that we will be able to convince other family & friends to start blogs too - so we can keep connected (so look out for my sales pitch coming to you soon:-)! For those of you who know how much I enjoy my scrapbooking - this will hopefully be an online version with a little more commentary!
Well, this is one of those things that I haven't been sure where to start, but I figured my birthday as a starting point would be a good beginning! Yesterday I turned 28! I know as I little girl I could never really picture what being 28 would be like - it just seemed so old, but it is here! It feels good! September is a busy month for birthdays on both Jeff and my family sides, but I have had more of a "birthday week" than just "birthday". On Monday we celebrated Jeff's dad's birthday, Kristan's birthday, Jeff's Birthday, and my birthday by trying out Lucille's BBQ in Lake Forest - it was definately delicious! Tuesday we enjoyed a night out at the Angel's game with Steve and Bonnie (even though they lost :-(. On Wednesday, my co-workers decorated my office took me out to lunch, and sent me on my way for my "
birthday week vacation" (hey birthday's are a big deal, I need a week to recover)! Yesterday, Jeff woke me up and asked if I wanted my presents then or later that evening, he knew that was a silly question to ask - of course I couldn't wait...So I opened a sweet card, a gift certificate for a massage (he knows me well) and a pair of Oakley sunlgasses that have built in mp3 players (music) for when I workout or go running - totally cool! I spent the morning enjoying my spa gift certificate and relaxing! Yesterday evening Jeff told me to dress up for our dinner date! He wouldn't tell me where we were going, but we ended up at The Beach House in Laguna Beach! Here's the pre-dinner picture! We watched the sunset and had a fabulous dinner (I even ordered lobster for the first time in my life - definately something a 28 year old should do)! It was a magical day thanks to my wonderful husband!
This weekend the birthday celebrations will continue...we will be visiting my side of the family (long overdue because of my crazy summer schedule) to have one big birthday celebration! We are looking forward to seeing my sister Kristen on Saturday morning (miss her!), and are excited to see all of the extended family.
