Discovering Family History

A few years ago my Grandma Martin (my mom's mom) gave all of her children and grandchildren a beautiful scrapbook of her family history. It included pictures of her and my grandpa from when they were children, and also went back to include both of their parents and grandparents! The pictures were amazing and I just kept looking and looking at all the interesting pictures. The book made me very intrigued and got me thinking that I should make a scrapbook of both Jeff and my sides of the family so we can always remember all of the people who loved us and cared about us, and so we can show our children where they came from and what great people we have had in our lives. So, I have been collecting pictures, scanning them into my computer, and asking annoying questions about dates and places from anyone who might have information. I don't think I realized what a big undertaking this was, but I am still excited about it. The pictures and stories are facinating, and I truly feel more connected to my family and to Jeff's family - even the people I was not able to meet. I thought I would include some photos of our parents as kids, and hopefully as I complete some of the scrapbook I will be able to share more! Wish me luck on my vacation project!
